poe3: sunset

unobstrusive,
they pitch camp, two oldies,
quietly amongst the offpeak seasoners,
eating in their car, out of the wind,
quietly.

simply the torchlight shadow shows
two tender bookworms, content
in their two man tent,
humble, secretive, subdued.

but when my morning rising
reveals an empty site,
I wonder, thoughtfully
at the remaining etched memory
I cannot forget -
the comfortable silence
and silhouettes in a beautiful sunset
